Real Estate Appraisers and Appraisals In
Los Angeles County, City of Hawthorne
Hawthorne is a city
located in southwestern Los Angeles County, California. As of the 2000 census,
the city had a total population of 84,112. Although incorporated as a city in
1922, Hawthorne is a part of the immense sprawl that amounts to the greater Los
Angeles area. Hawthorne is known to rock and roll fans as the home of Brian,
Carl, and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys. The Wilson brothers' boyhood home
was demolished in the late 1980s during the construction of the Century
Freeway, although it was honored by the dedication of a California State
Historic Landmark (California Landmark 1041) in May 2005. Although Hawthorne
itself is not a beach community, it is a part of the LA area deemed the
"South Bay," and as such is adjacent to the city of Manhattan Beach
and near other water front appraisal towns (famous for their surfing areas)
such as Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach. Hawthorne is fairly close to the Los
Angeles International Airport, "LAX." Sports figure Jim Thorpe
resided in Hawthorne during part of his life. The Western Museum of Flight,
which restores and displays historic aircraft, is located at the Hawthorne
Municipal Airport |
